A handful of states have opened applications for their mortgage relief programs. The American Rescue Plan Act set aside stimulus money for states to use to help homeowners at risk of losing their homes.. This is known as the HomeownerAssistanceFund (HAF), which provides nearly $10billion for states, the District of Columbia, as well as other US territories.

For implementation of this program across 48 eligible counties, the GLO allocated funds into six regions, with the majority of funds being directed to the most impacted counties and zip codes within each region as prescribed by HUD requirements.
